This pen&s $5.00 this one&s $15 even though they are exactly the same if youhad to choose between them you would probably go with the cheaper option it&sjust better value for your money so why aren&t you doing exactly the same thingwith your hosting provider well let&s review Hostinger claims they&reoffering as the fastest web hosting at the price nobody can beat if that wereactually true they would be the best web hosting company on the market right nowso I went ahead and tested their claims to see if they&re actually true andhere&s what I found a 24 month premium plan with the Hostinger will cost you83 dollars this includes the domain name and an SSL certificate to make yourwebsite secure you&ll want to have an SSL certificate because nothing makesusers leave your web site faster than a not secure tag in the top cornerlet&s put it all together now for the upcoming two years you&ll have unlimitedbandwidth 20 gigabytes of SSD storage disk space a domain name and an SSLcertificate and all of this for just yeah 83 dollars very quick sidenote I&lluse SiteGround and a Hostgator as my comparison for Hostinger becausethey&re very big players on the market right now so I believe this will be anexcellent comparison point okay with that out of the way let&s get back tothe video if you choose to go with SiteGround for the exact same featuresyou&ll have to dish out 159 dollars that&s a 92% increase in price forvirtually the same product still not convinced an identical planwith Hostgator will set you back 216 dollars that&s aninsane 160 percent increase in price or as I like to call it more money for thesame product.
however we&re all smart consumers we understand that that priceisn&t everything sometimes you want additional features and you always wantthe best possible performance so let&s see how Hostinger stacks up againstother hosting providers in just a minute what immediately stands out is that theydon&t use the standard cPanel when managing your account Hostinger developedtheir own version of cPanel that has all of the same functionality but seems tobe way more responsive and faster to navigate than the standard cPanelcounterpart if you&re not a diehard cPanel fan I can guarantee that you willappreciate having this feature and of course you still have such tools as theautomatic WordPress installer that&s super simple to use and is probably oneof the easiest ways to create your website in 2019fun fact Hostinger claims they have optimizations in place that makeWordPress websites load faster since this sounds super cool I gave it a quicktest to see if it&s actually trueall web hosting plans with Hostinger include personal email features meaningyou can register a personal email address using your domain name and theemail system is pretty straightforward to use so I&ve just created a new emailaccount and send a test message to that account in order to see how fast itarrives and no surprise there it was pretty much as fast as I couldswitch my browsing tabs.
Cheap web hosting that supports all of the latestfeatures performance has to be the place where they take a hit right well notexactly and let me show you why. Okay there&s alot of numbers on the screen but what do they actually mean well long storyshort Hostinger was faster it scored better results in both PageSpeed andYSlow and both Hostinger and SiteGround fully loaded the website in 1.5sthe determining factor here being that SiteGround was twice as expensiveso why would I pay twice as much for a product that doesn&t seem to perform asgood as something that only cost me 83 dollars. At this point Ithought maybe there&s something I&m missing so I used UptimeRobot tomonitor the response and uptime of both Hostinger and SiteGround. SiteGround hada very slight advantage in uptime as they scored a 99.99% and this isprobably as good as it gets but their response time was 632milliseconds which is roughly 3.5 times higher than the 162 milliseconds ofHostinger. Keep in mind that Google recommends keeping this number lowerthan 200 milliseconds at all times for the best performance of course. Howeverthere&s one more thing I wanted to mention I also wanted to include theHostgator into these performance tests I simply couldn&t because when I&mperforming these tests I usually set up a testing website and every time I needa testing website I just buy a new domain so when purchasing my domain withHostinger and Hostgator I purposely made some mistakes to test their supportteam and here&s how Hostinger handled my mistake versus how Hostgator helpedme resolve it. To bring you up to speed I bought a testingpurposeshostgator.xyzdomain and I knew it will have issues becauseit contains copyrighted text so just as suspected I couldn&t register thisdomain on my own even though I already paid for it. Just as suggested I&vecontacted Hostinger support and within minutes they&ve explained why the issueoccurred and offered to fix it right away so I gave them a new domain nameand they just changed it quick easy and this whole thing took me less than 15minutes in total and I even received the cute gif at the endeveryone&s happy. And, this brings me back to my first point why wasn&t I able toshowcase Hostgator results well because I also purchased my hosting plan using acopyrighted domain name with Hostgator and later asked the support staff to changeit. Instead of changing it however they immediately banned my account and askedme to pay again even though I&ve already paid for my services. Later, they asked meto email them a photo of my government-issued ID which I wasn&tcomfortable doing but did it anyways for this review and after a couple of hoursI received another email asking to submit a new domain name as ofpublishing this review a couple of days later my account is no longer banned butthey weren&t able to change the domain name as I requested so one liveconversation eight emails and three days later I&m right back where I startedcompare this to the 15 minutes it took Hostinger to solve exactly the sameproblem. At this point I can safely say that Hostinger in fact does offer fastreliable and cheap web hosting.
However, I&m a firm believer that such a thing asa perfect product or service simply does not exist and everything has its flawsso here&s some of Hostingers. I&ve really really really tried to dig upsome dirt on Hostinger so that this review wouldn&t be so one-sided and theseveral bad things that I could find were some refund policies on their ToS(Terms of Service)meaning some services are not refundable or have limited periods of time to berefunded even though the advertised a 30 day money-back guarantee and the SSLthey&re offering is called let&s encrypt it&s actually a free productso they&re charging you $12 for a free product as an installation fee. My final scorefor Hostinger has to be a 9.5/10 just because as Imentioned before I do not believe that such a thing as a perfect product orservice actually exists and if someone tells you otherwise they&re probablylying to you. So, I want for you to go in the comments down below and share yourexperiences good or bad with Hostinger and I hope you enjoyed my review I&llsee you in the next one!
